Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of websites, software, developer tools, and services provided by LocalThink Inc. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy.

Permitted Use

You may use LocalThink products and services for lawful personal and professional purposes, including saving, organizing, searching, and continuing your AI conversations using the LocalThink Format (LTF).

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use LocalThink services for any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or infringing purpose
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to LocalThink servers, APIs, or infrastructure
  • Abuse, scrape, or excessively call LocalThink API endpoints beyond reasonable use
  • Use LocalThink services to transmit malware, spam, or malicious content
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute LocalThink software or services without authorization
  • Use LocalThink services to harass, defame, or threaten others
  • Attempt to circumvent authentication, licensing, or security controls

API Keys and Third-Party Services

LocalThink Desktop allows you to connect your own LLM provider services using API keys. You are solely responsible for the security and usage of your own API keys. Your API keys are stored locally on your device and are not stored on, or transmitted to, LocalThink Inc. servers. Your use of third-party LLM services is subject to the respective provider's terms of service.

Local-First Principle

LocalThink Desktop is designed as a local-first, offline-first application. Your AI conversations and personal data are stored on your device. LocalThink Inc. does not collect, upload, or process your conversation content. You are responsible for managing your own data backups.

Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in LocalThink ID suspension, service termination, or other corrective action at LocalThink Inc.'s sole discretion. We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, communicated by email to the address associated with your LocalThink ID.
