LocalThink for macOS Is Now Available
LocalThink for macOS is a local-first desktop app to search, organize, and continue your saved AI conversations.
LocalThink for macOS is now available to download.
If you have ever wondered where an idea from an old AI conversation went, this app is for you. LocalThink helps you search, organize, and continue the conversations you have saved, all in a local-first desktop app.
Save, Organize, Continue
LocalThink works in three simple steps.
Save. Use LTF Builder, our free Chrome extension, to export conversations from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok as readable LTF files. No signup is required.
Organize. Add your files to LocalThink and build a library you can search and revisit whenever you need it.
Continue. Find the reasoning behind an earlier idea, reopen the conversation, and pick up where you left off.
Your Conversations Stay Yours
Your saved conversation library stays on your computer.
When you chat in LocalThink, you can use a local model or an external provider that you configure. Your conversations are stored as Markdown-based .ltf.md files, an open format you can keep, read, and move between tools.
Get Started on Your Mac
- Open the LocalThink DMG file on your Mac.
- Drag LocalThink into your Applications folder, then open the app.
- Sign in with your LocalThink ID, then open Settings to connect a cloud provider or prepare Ollama for local AI and semantic search.
LocalThink for macOS is available now for Apple silicon. Windows and Linux are coming soon.
What's Next
This is the first release of the desktop app, and we are building it in the open with the LocalThink Format community. If you try it, we would like to hear what works and what does not. You can reach us at contact@localthink.ai.
